Earth Day Canada recognition programsEarth Day Canada is celebrating and supporting environmental leaders, volunteers and organizations with recognition and financial support, including scholarships, grants and cash awards.

The Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program is awarding twenty $5 000 scholarships to graduating Canadian high school and CEGEP students entering their first year of post-secondary studies—regardless of their chosen field of study. Students must apply by January 31st, 2011 at www.earthday.ca/scholarship.

The Earth Day Canada Community Environment Fund is providing financial grants of up to $20 000 to support local not-for-profit organizations, charities and schools in the development and delivery of environmental initiatives in Ontario. Groups must apply for the Spring Grant Period by February 28th, 2011 at www.earthday.ca/envirofund.

The Hometown Heroes Award Program is rewarding environmental leaders (individuals, groups and organizations) who foster meaningful, long–term community awareness and action. Heroes can win one of three Hometown Heroes Awards and a $10 000 prize. Heroes must be nominated by February 28th, 2011 at www.earthday.ca/hometown.
