International Children's Painting Competition
Deadline: April 15, 2010
The United Nations Environment Programme's International Children's Painting Competition invites young people (ages 6-14) to submit their paintings on the theme to the relevant UNEP Regional Office. This year's theme is "Biodiversity: Connecting with Nature." The competition encourages children from all parts of the world to focus on particular environmental issues and how these issues affect their communities. Regional winners will be announced on World Environment Day, June 5, 2010. The regional first prize winners each will receive a cash prize and a trip for themselves and an accompanying adult to the Tunza International Children’s Conference in Aichi, Japan, August 2010.

The Canadian Network for Environmental Education and Communication (EECOM) annual conference, "Diversity, Sustainability, and Environment: Exploring cultural and practical diversity for environmental learning," will focus on the diversity present within the field of environmental learning, both culturally and practically.
Audubon International's Free Webinars in 2010
To celebrate the mid-way point of the United Nation's Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, throughout 2010 Audubon International will be hosting a series of free training Webinars designed to help people become better stewards of the environment where they live, work, and play. Webinars will focus on topics such as community sustainability, greening your business or property, eco-development practices, and community outreach ideas. Registration is free, but space is limited.

Cloud Institute’s Advanced Summer Institute: EfS Curriculum Design Studio™
July 26-30, 2010 (and Pre-requisite "Introduction to Sustainability" July 25th)
Learn how to incorporate Education for Sustainability (EfS) into your curriculum. In this five-day workshop for teachers, curriculum designers, administrators, and grade-level teams, participants will have the time and space they crave, and the expertise, resources, and tools they need to design elegant EfS curriculum units for use in their classrooms or design EfS change initiatives for their schools. Participants will also have the opportunity to pilot the Cloud Institute’s new online Curriculum Design Studio™, allowing them to design and share exemplary units.

Sustainability Leadership Graduate Program
Edgewood College, Madison, Wisconsin, announces its Sustainability Leadership graduate certificate program to prepare leaders in applying principles of ecological and cultural sustainability. This is a project-based program designed for working professionals, including K-12 teachers and administrators. The program begins 8/7/2010 with a one-week four-credit residential course, and continues through the fall and spring with two four-credit courses meeting every other Saturday, and a three-credit individualized capstone project (completed 8/5/2011).
